--Evaluation Question 2--

My character was based upon and similar to stallone’s character ‘Rambo’ they both have similar physic and wear similar cloths they also both have the ex-army drifter look Rambo looks rugged long hair and doesn’t care about his vanity this was also the look that I was going for however did not achieve. I wanted my character to have experienced what Rambo had in his previous war years which i tried to show through the flashbacks of the guns. Throughout the flash backs however my character wears the army camouflage.

--Evaluation Question 7--

I Beleive that my final practical product has come a long way scince my preliminary task. To begin with from my prelim i knew that using voice or voice overs in the footage without any microphoes made the sound come across poorly and mae it sound cheap and scrappy so i decided to use subtitles insterad that way i could also keep my soundtrack. The editing was also a lot smoother in my final product it all looked natural with consistent continuity andno abnoral jump cuts ,unlike my prelim,with no breaks in the 180 degree rule.Further more there was no shaky cameras in my final product as i used a tripod throughout the whole thing albiet there were a few creaky tripod moments but nothing a bit of WD40 couldnt solve.Also my soundtrack coverd up any unwanted noises.

New technologies that have been used.

Cameras.

I have learnt how to use the cameras from recording to in camera editing aswell as camera skills such as pull focus, zoom and others etc etc

Youtuber.

I have learnt how to use you tube i have uploaded my video and i have also edited my video in youtube using annotations and speech bubbles.

I macs+ imovie

After using the iacs i have leant all about using them and exporting my video into the differnet formats and file sizes i also edited my video using imovie and editing using transitions and adding music to the film.

--Evaluation question 4--

The audience for my film will be anyone from the age 15 (it would be younger but the rating of the film is a fifteen)(refer to BBFC ratings post)above and below 90.

My audience would be the average man interested in fast cars, motorcycles the odd sport here and shops at Sainsbury's with music such as R.E.M., Oasis, and various other popular music makers whilst watching cops with camera' and comedy panel shows such as Never mind the Buzzcocks . there with a hint of thrill seeker but with a sensitive side on which he can reflect on the greater aspects of life and the film.the explorer or reformer class of rubicam and youngs audience hieirachy whose core need is for discovery and enlightenment.

--Evaluation Question 3--

---A production company is a company that produces films this consists of studios and the preparation of the film. A production company could be like universal studios. a place wherefilms are made and produced.

---A Distributer is a company that distributer the film to both the cinemas and the shops as well as ,nowadays, online sales.

--- A film like mine would most likely be founded from independent investors similar to the funding of the film 'the hurt locker'. That is because it is a relatively small film with only a few hugh action scenes thus requiring a smaller Budget.

----There have only been a few names that are mentioned at the beginning of the film which are the directors and actors (in my case the same person) this is because they are the most important and recognizable names in the films crew in my film i have also added the people that helped me this was because there was not that many people there for i could mention all the crew.

---Another film that is similar to mine institutionally would be the Hurt locker as that was also a small time film that went well at the box office, it also had a small budget which would be similar to my film, Albeit the location of our films will be totally different ,one in desert one in forest , the hurt locker had a rather small cast and crew this again would be the same as my film as for the release locations this would be everywhere at the same time but it will be in the cinemas for longer than the hurt locker (the hurt locker wasnt in cinemas for very long and almost went straight to DVD) so as to get more money.

Premieire !

I have shown the completed film to the rest of the class(professional film critics) the film was percieved rather well, there was feedback that consisted of the subtitles of which it was too fast despite having plenty of time to read them they still disappeared quickly.

Film Finate (finished)

The filming is complete , the editing is complete and the sound track has now been added as well as credits and subtitles final film time is a little over 2 minutes. perfecto!

The sound track is amazing grace i thought this would be ok as it was composed over 100 years ago which means its copyright would have been dispersesd therefore allowing me to use it. however i did have to ask permission from the owner of the video (from youtube) to use there video (music) in the construction of my video.--------Not Complete-------

Start of editing!

I will start editing this will be fairly easy as i made sure that most of the scenes were simple one take things. I mainly just cut down the length of shots and put a darkend halo around the out side of each flash back to signify the flashback, as well as a few fade outs and a dissolve to show present time.

final part of filming completed! this consisted of some shots walking through the forest and under the bridge and walking up the hill, =finally i also managed to film the scope scene which was done by holding the scope infront of the camera so the scope magnifies and puts a crosshair on the video.

I have done a few more scenes including the scope scene and the present day scenes with only one more scene to do which is the scene where he creeps up behind someone.

More filming problems

On wednesday i attempted to do more filming, after getting ready i rode all the way past pucklechurch. I only had a few seconds of daylight to finish filming but after getting everything ready and turning the camera on i then realised that i had left the tape at home. Not Good.

The battery life of the camera was also a rather large problem as lasting only a few minutes is not very helpful the final problem is that i used my bike to film most of this film and now having sold the bike i will have to find alternative transport.

Filming over the Holidays

Over the holidays i managed to film 2-3 scenes consisting of the 1st person running shot when the camera is being hand held i also filmed a further scene when its a shot of the soldier lying down with his gun

Filming problems

I had intended to film parts of my film using the gun in my back garden ,that was my original plan but however due immense ,unnatural rain destroying every chance of filming(its boggier than bog out there)i could not film a further problem is that there are builders coming to build in our garden so I have missed the last chance i had to film within the premises of my back garden so i will have to find a substitute location where i can use my gun and not arise suspicion or fear.

Filming Dates and filming order

--I wont be able to say what dates i will go and fiulm because it would probally be weather dependant but it would most likelly be on saturdays or sundays when my helpers and actors would be available.
--To start with i will film the scenes that dont need any helpers which are the first few flashbacks. Then i will film the scenes that only require a camera man and actor followed by filming the scenes with camera man and multiple actors

Actors and Responsibilities.

--I wont need many actors for my film most of the scenes i will be playing the main character however there may be one or to shots where i will have some one else play the main charcter so that i could get the desired camera technique for that scene.
--There are 2 shots that do have actors in wchich i will use my two friends (Lewis and Jordan) to act and i will use the camera because in this case the camera work is more essential as opposed to the acting.
-- When i am acting however it would be because the acting part would be more important than the camera, so i can just show my camera man(Lewis) what i intend for that scene and he can follow instructions .

MUSIC+ garage band

The music is still undecided at this point due to the copyright restriction, i do know that it will be slow paced to go with the emotional side of the sequence.

I have recently been searching on youtube for uncopyrighted bands/artists and have decided on music played by either the bag pipes or pan pipes which both relate to the emotional side of war especially bag pipes which are commonly played at funerals

We used garage band to try and create music for my video as we were not allowed to use copyrighted music. I had combined two pre-made loops to create a great relaxing tune that contains an emotional asset that may link into my are drama genre. cool tune.

AGE RATING and TARGET AUDIENCE

If the film were to be produced it would achieve a rating of 15 from both the BBFC and the film censors office this would be because it would contain mild threat (the situation in a war) and it would also contain violence as is the problem with war however really bad language will kept to a minimum which is why it will only be a 15.

The target audience is going to be teenagers up to adults and as rubicam and young theory would describe them as 'explorers' this is because poeple watching films of this genre want to discover more about the idea behind the film. The large target audience would be because my research tells me that lots of older as well as younger poeple enjoy the war genre.

CHARACTERS

There will be few characters in the opening sequence as it is supposed to show how alone and rejected the soldier is supposed to be however there will be a long shot that would be filmed though a telescopic scope with two characters talking to each other other than that i will only need the one actor.
